We installed a new external power supply, running a fully weatherproof circuit around the outside of the property to feed a remote point. Neat round PVC conduit was dressed cleanly along the base of the brickwork, around external corners and past the rainwater downpipe, with junction and inspection points used at each change of direction to keep the run accessible and tidy.
Inside, a new metal-clad sub-board was mounted on a fresh backboard with its own main switch and MCB protection, ready to serve the new outlets. Matching new accessories were fitted, including a switched fused connection unit and double socket outlets, all wired back to the protected circuit.
At the main intake, the installation was tied into the property’s existing consumer unit, where a dedicated way has been provided and clearly labelled “EV” to supply the new external charging circuit — giving the supply its own correctly rated protection separate from the rest of the house. As an NICEIC-approved electrician, the work was carried out to BS 7671, fully tested and certified, with the exterior containment kept discreet and weatherproof for a long-lasting, professional finish.
