External blinds deal with that far better than anything fitted on the inside, because they stop the heat at the glass rather than after it has already entered the room. Ours was the electrical side: bringing power to each blind position, installing the fused spurs and local isolators for the motors, and running the supplies discreetly through the soffit and around the structure so nothing is visible against a very deliberate piece of architecture.
Getting the electrics in first matters on a job like this. The blind installer needs a live, correctly protected supply waiting at every position when they arrive; if it isn’t there, a one-visit installation becomes two. We set the spurs where they stay accessible for isolation and servicing but out of sight in normal use, then tested and certified everything before handover.
