This Norwich kitchen and dining renovation called for a full lighting installation to bring out the best of the newly fitted dark shaker units and bright, open-plan layout. We installed a striking three-lamp pendant bar over the dining area, a feature wall light, and a run of recessed LED downlights and spots across the kitchen ceiling and the extension’s flat-roof section.
The result is layered, controllable lighting — task lighting over the worktops and hob, softer accent lighting on the open shelving, and warm ambient light over the table — all neatly wired and switched. New sockets were also positioned around the worktops to suit the way the kitchen is used day to day.
To support the additional circuits, a new FuseBox consumer unit was installed, with clearly labelled ways for lights, shower, cooker, kitchen sockets and the ground and first-floor circuits, RCD protection and a surge protection device, fed from an up-to-date smart meter and a 100A main switch. As an NICEIC-approved, fully-certified contractor, we delivered the whole installation with clean, considerate workmanship — from the consumer unit through to the finished feature lighting — testing and certifying every circuit on completion.
