For this property we installed a new FuseBox consumer unit, replacing an older fuse board with modern circuit protection that meets current BS 7671 standards. The new unit carries our periodic-inspection label, recording the inspection date and the recommended date for the next check so the owner always knows where they stand.
The supply runs from an up-to-date smart meter with a 100A main switch, neatly connected through to the new board. We tidied and re-terminated the meter tails and supply conductors, leaving a clear, safe and well-organised setup in the meter cupboard.
Because this installation feeds a bank of robust metal-clad sockets, each socket position was clearly labelled and the correct warning labels fitted where different phases are present — an important safety measure that protects anyone working on the system in future. As an NICEIC-approved contractor, the work was carried out to a fully certified standard, improving protection against electric shock and fire and bringing the installation in line with the latest wiring regulations.
