We replaced an outdated installation with a new FuseBox F3011MZ consumer unit, bringing this home fully in line with current BS 7671 standards. The new board provides time-delayed RCD protection, integrated surge protection (SPD) and a tidy run of RCBOs, with every circuit clearly labelled — cooker, lighting, first-floor and ground-floor sockets and lighting all individually identified for easy isolation and future maintenance.
During installation the existing meter tails, main earth and bonding were checked and neatly re-dressed, and the board fitted with our periodic-inspection label so the homeowner has a clear compliance record. A caution label noting the mix of old and new BS 7671 wiring colours was added to flag the legacy wiring for anyone working on the system in future.
The works also included a new kitchen socket, with a switched double socket fitted on a clean run, providing safe, convenient power near the cooking area without disturbing the decoration. As NICEIC-approved electricians we completed and certified the work throughout, leaving a safe, clearly documented and neatly finished installation.
