We carried out a complete house rewire on this large detached property as part of a major renovation. The whole installation was taken back and re-run from scratch — fresh cabling fanned out above the new board and feeding circuits throughout the house, all tested and certified on completion by our NICEIC-approved electricians.
At the heart of the job is a new FuseBox 18-way consumer unit, fully populated with MCBs and RCBOs and surge protection, every conductor neatly dressed and the board carrying our own periodic-inspection label for the homeowner’s records. The mains intake was reworked too, with new meter tails, a switched main isolator, a clearly marked main earth terminal and a fire-alarm control switch for the property’s mains-wired alarm system.
Throughout the home we installed new lighting — recessed downlights and surface spots across the open-plan kitchen/diner, hallway, landing and bedrooms — along with mains-interlinked smoke and heat alarms, an extractor fan, and new sockets and switches throughout. The kitchen was wired ready for the new units, hob, oven and appliances, with a bank of switched fused spurs concealed in an overhead cabinet.
A rewire of this scale is disruptive, so the result speaks to careful planning: clean cable runs, a fully labelled board and a property left safe, compliant and ready for decoration — fully certified and guaranteed.
