This was a complete rewire of a family home, taking the property back to a safe, modern electrical installation throughout. We installed a large new FuseBox consumer unit with individual protection across every circuit — clearly labelled for the oven, kitchen sockets, fire alarm, front and back lighting, front and back sockets and an outbuilding supply — and fitted with surge protection, tied into the existing meter with fresh tails and earthing.
Every room was re-cabled from scratch. New conduit and cabling was chased into the walls and made good ready for redecoration, with new socket outlets, switches and lighting points run back to the board. Throughout the house we fitted recessed LED downlights and new pendant points, replacing the tired original fittings.
In the loft we ran the new circuits cleanly along the joists into surface-mounted junction boxes, keeping the installation accessible and serviceable, and a mains-powered alarm system was installed with a dedicated fire-alarm control switch for the household. A loft ventilation unit and ducting was also wired in.
As you’d expect from an NICEIC-approved electrician, the whole installation was fully tested and certified, with neat cable runs and a clearly documented consumer unit. A rewire like this removes years of accumulated faults and old wiring, and gives the homeowner a safe, future-proofed installation with plenty of capacity for modern living.
