This Norwich kitchen project centred on a brand-new consumer unit installed with RCBO/RCD protection and a clearly labelled circuit chart. Each way is identified — including dedicated circuits for the hob, microwave, lighting, sockets and an external shed supply — so the homeowner can see at a glance exactly what each breaker controls. A modern board like this brings the installation up to current standards and gives every circuit its own fault protection.
Alongside the board, we carried out the kitchen’s electrical refit. New double sockets were fitted above the worktop with copper-finish faceplates to match the décor, a dedicated supply was provided for the extractor hood, and the cooker and induction hob were connected on their own circuits. A switched fused spur arrangement inside the units neatly handles the integrated appliances and isolation.
Throughout the job the work area was fully dust-sheeted to protect the worktops, hob and cabinetry, and everything was tested and certified on completion. As NICEIC-approved electricians we leave every consumer unit fully labelled, tested and signed off, with the workspace left clean and tidy.
