Main Protective Bonding & Consumer Unit Upgrade — Norwich

Fuse Board Upgrades Norwich

This project at a property undergoing refurbishment combined essential safety upgrades with first-fix electrical works. We installed a new FuseBox consumer unit with a full row of individually protected RCBO circuits, neatly terminated with colour-coded conductors and labelled live terminals — the kind of clean, ordered enclosure that makes inspection and any future alteration simple and safe.

A key part of the works was the main protective bonding. A correctly sized green-and-yellow earth conductor was clamped to the incoming metal service pipe using a proper BS 951 earth clamp with its “Safety Electrical Connection — Do Not Remove” label, ensuring the installation meets current earthing and bonding requirements under BS 7671.

The wider job included first-fixing across freshly plastered and plasterboarded rooms, with pendant lighting points, new wall lighting and back boxes set out ready for second fix. Working through a property mid-renovation, we kept cable runs tidy and circuits clearly planned. As NICEIC-approved electricians, all of the bonding and consumer-unit work was carried out and certified to full compliance.
