We fitted a brand-new FuseBox consumer unit to bring this property’s installation fully up to current BS 7671 standards. The new board features dual RCD protection, integrated surge protection (SPD) and a clearly labelled bank of RCBOs and MCBs, with every circuit individually identified — garage sockets, annexe cooker, PV, en-suite shower, upstairs and downstairs lighting and sockets, water-heater supply and more. Tidy, methodical labelling like this makes future maintenance and fault-finding straightforward.
The job also took in the property’s solar PV setup. A myenergi Harvi wireless sensor was installed alongside the metering and a weatherproof IP-rated enclosure, allowing the solar generation to be monitored and self-consumption managed without running extra cabling. The “Solar PV on roof” warning label and dedicated PV circuit at the board confirm the installation is correctly integrated and clearly identified for safety.
Main earthing and bonding were checked and brought up to standard as part of the works, with the supply meter, PME warning label and tails all left clean and accessible. As NICEIC-approved electricians we completed and certified the installation throughout, and fitted our own periodic-inspection label so the homeowner has a clear record and reminder for ongoing compliance.
